Privacy

This page tells you what data the website beaiready.app processes about you, why, for how long and what you can do about it. We wrote it so that it can be read to the end.

Effective from 6 October 2026.

This is a translation; the Czech version is the binding one: privacy policy and terms of use. The operator is a Czech company, which is why Czech laws are referred to.

In short

  • You read the comic without registering or signing in. The site has no user accounts and no visitor database of its own.
  • Contact details come only from you: an email address for the newsletter or a message through the contact form.
  • We measure visits with PostHog on servers in the EU. It uses cookies only with your consent; without consent it counts anonymously.
  • We do not sell data, pass it to advertising networks or use it for profiling.
  • The data controller is Deer Codes, s.r.o.. You can write to us at info@deercodes.cz.

Who is responsible for the site

The controller of personal data within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the company that operates the website beaiready.app:

  • Deer Codes, s.r.o.

    Registered office
Nové sady 988/2, Staré Brno, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic
    Company id (IČO)
    07608594
    Register entry
commercial register, Krajský soud v Brně, sp. zn. C 109088
    Email
    info@deercodes.cz

For any question, request or objection about personal data, write to info@deercodes.cz. We have no data protection officer; the law does not require one of us.

Newsletter

When you subscribe to the newsletter, we first send you a confirmation email (double opt-in). Until you click the confirmation in it, nothing else arrives. We delete an unconfirmed signup within 30 days.

What we process: your email address, where you signed up from (which episode or page) and in which language, and a technical record of the signup and of the confirmation (time; for the confirmation also the IP address) with which we prove your consent. The service we use for sending also records whether the email was delivered and whether you opened it or clicked anything in it. That shows us which texts readers find interesting and tells us which addresses are inactive.

Why: to write to you about new episodes, occasionally send a tip on working with artificial intelligence, and exceptionally offer our training.

Legal basis: your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 7(2) of Czech Act No. 480/2004 Coll., on certain information society services. Giving it is voluntary, and without it you read the comic exactly the same.

How long: until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe with the link in every email or by writing to info@deercodes.cz; withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal. If no reaction comes from you for 3 years, we remove the address from the list ourselves. After unsubscribing, the address stays only on the list of unsubscribed addresses (on the basis of our legitimate interest) so that nothing reaches you by mistake.

Subscribe only if you are at least 15 years old. Anyone may read the comic; younger readers should receive the newsletter through a parent, at the parent's address. As soon as we find that an address was signed up by a child under 15, we delete it.

Sending is handled by the Czech tool Ecomail as our processor; it stores subscriber data in the EU (details below).

Contact form for companies and schools

What we process: your name, the name of the company or school, email, optionally a phone number, the text of your message, and which page (and, where applicable, which episode) you came to the form from.

Why: to answer your training enquiry and arrange the training with you. Right after sending, we email you a short confirmation that the message arrived; its text is fixed and contains nothing of what you wrote.

Legal basis: taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries under point (f).

How long: the message stays in our mailbox while we handle the enquiry, at most 12 months after the last message. If a contract for training follows, we keep the data for its duration and then for as long as accounting and tax rules require, and for the limitation periods.

Delivery of the emails is handled by the service Resend as our processor. Its servers are in the USA and it keeps the message and its delivery log for 30 days. The transfer to the USA is covered by the European Commission's adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and by standard contractual clauses in the data processing agreement. If that does not suit you, write to us directly by email.

Measuring visits

We want to know how many people read the comic, where they leave it and whether the interactions work. We measure: page views, which episode and scene you read, that you completed an interaction and with what result (not the individual answers), clicks on the links for companies and schools and on the share buttons, that a newsletter signup or a form was submitted (only the fact, never the address or the text), the type of device and browser, your approximate location from the IP address (country, city), and where you came from (referring site, campaign tags in the address).

Until you pick one of the options in the bar at the bottom, measurement does not start and nothing is exchanged with PostHog. The bar offers two choices, and you can reopen it at any time with the “Privacy settings” button in the footer:

  • “I agree”: a cookie and a local-storage entry with a random identifier are stored in your browser (valid for 365 days). It lets us recognise that you came back and see your whole path through the comic. Legal basis: consent under Section 89(3) of Czech Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on electronic communications, and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
  • “Anonymous only”: no cookie, nothing in storage except your choice. We measure the same as above, but without an identifier: PostHog recognises you only within one day, from a fingerprint (hash) of your IP address, browser and the site's address, salted with a value that changes every day; it does not store the IP address, and the next day you are a new visitor to us. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing how the comic is read (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object to this processing by email to info@deercodes.cz.

Measurement is handled by PostHog as our processor, in its PostHog Cloud EU edition: the data sits on servers in Frankfurt. If the site breaks, a technical error report goes there too (page address, browser, description of the error), without form contents. PostHog deletes individual measurement records after 7 years at the latest; aggregated statistics with no link to a person may be kept indefinitely.

We serve fonts and images ourselves, so nothing is loaded from Google or other third parties while you read, apart from PostHog measurement after your choice. The share buttons open LinkedIn, Facebook or WhatsApp only after you click them; until then nothing is exchanged with those services.

Running the site and protecting it from spam

The site runs on Vercel. With every request its servers process your IP address, the page address and browser details in order to deliver the page and fend off attacks, and keep them in operational logs for as long as the provider sets, usually briefly. Vercel is a US company; the transfer to the USA is covered by the European Commission's adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and by standard contractual clauses in the data processing agreement. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We protect the forms from bots without picture puzzles: with a hidden field, by measuring the time it took to fill the form, and with a limit on submissions from one IP address. For that the server holds the address in working memory only; after 10 minutes it is no longer used, and a server restart clears it. It is stored nowhere.

Who we pass data to

Only to the processors below, each of which does one specific thing for us, has a data processing agreement with us and may not use the data for itself. Beyond that only to authorities when the law requires it. We do not sell data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right:

  • of access: to learn what data we hold about you and to get a copy,
  • to rectification of inaccurate data and completion of incomplete data,
  • to erasure (“to be forgotten”) when we no longer need the data or you withdraw consent,
  • to restriction of processing while, for example, a dispute about accuracy is resolved,
  • to portability of the data we process on the basis of consent or a contract, in a machine-readable format,
  • to object to processing based on our legitimate interest (measuring visits, operational logs),
  • to withdraw consent (newsletter, cookies) at any time, as easily as you gave it.

Just write to info@deercodes.cz. We reply without undue delay and within a month at the latest; for complex requests we may extend that by two months and will let you know. We may ask you to verify that it is you, so that we do not hand data to someone else.

If you believe we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the operator's supervisory authority: Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection), Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, uoou.gov.cz. You can also complain to the authority of the country where you live or work.

We make no automated decisions about you and do not profile you. Providing data is voluntary; without an email address, though, we can neither send you the newsletter nor answer an enquiry.

Changes to this policy

When the site adds a service or the law changes, we update the policy and change the date at the top. We tell newsletter subscribers about a substantial change by email. The terms of use of the site are on a separate page.
